We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how the website is used and to store certain information. These include beacons, tags and scripts.

Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on your device. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when a cookie is being sent. If you refuse cookies, some parts of the website may not work.

Web beacons. Some sections of the website and some of our emails contain small electronic files known as web beacons, also called clear gifs, pixel tags or single pixel gifs. These let us count visitors to a page or recipients who opened an email, and help us check system and server integrity.

Cookies are either persistent or session based. Persistent cookies stay on your device after you go offline. Session cookies are deleted the moment you close your browser.

Where the law requires it, we use cookies that are not essential, such as analytics, advertising and remarketing cookies, only with your consent. You can withdraw or change that consent at any time through our cookie preferences tool, where available, or through your browser or device settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place while consent was in force.

We use the following cookies:

  • Essential cookies. Session based, managed by us. These make the website work. They authenticate users and help prevent fraudulent use of accounts. Without them, the services you have asked for cannot be provided.
  • Cookie notice cookies. Persistent, managed by us. These record whether you have accepted the use of cookies on this website.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. We may keep it longer where required to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements and policies.

Where we can, we shorten retention periods or reduce identifiability by deleting, aggregating or anonymising data. The periods below are maximums. We may delete or anonymise data sooner once it is no longer needed.

  • Account information. Kept for as long as your account is active, and for up to 24 months after closure, to resolve any issues or disputes that arise afterwards.
  • Customer support data. Support tickets and correspondence are kept for up to 24 months after the ticket closes, so we can handle further enquiries, monitor service quality and defend legal claims. Chat transcripts are kept for up to 24 months for quality assurance and training.
  • Usage data. Website analytics data, including cookies, IP addresses and device identifiers, is kept for up to 24 months from collection. Server logs, including IP addresses and access times, are kept for up to 24 months for security monitoring and troubleshooting.

Usage data is kept longer only where necessary for security, fraud prevention or legal compliance.

We may keep personal data beyond these periods where:

  • The law requires it, for example financial records for tax purposes
  • It is needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim
  • You have asked us to keep specific information
  • It exists in backup systems scheduled for routine deletion

You can ask us how long we will keep your data by contacting us.

Once a retention period ends, we either delete the data from our active systems, or convert it into anonymous statistical data that cannot be traced back to you. Anonymised data may be kept indefinitely for research and analytics. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period in line with our backup schedule, and are not restored except where required for security, disaster recovery or legal compliance.

Transfers outside your jurisdiction

Your information is processed at our offices and at any other location where the parties involved in processing are based. This means it may be transferred to and held on computers outside your state, province or country, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.

Where the law requires it, we apply appropriate safeguards to international transfers. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure your data is handled securely and in line with this policy. No transfer takes place to an organisation or country unless adequate controls are in place.

Your rights over your data

You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you, or ask for our help in deleting it.

The website may allow you to delete certain information yourself. You can also update, correct or delete your information by signing in to your account, where you have one, and going to account settings. Alternatively, contact us and we will help.

Please note that we may need to retain certain information where we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

When we may disclose your data

  • Business transactions. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, your data may be transferred. We will give notice before it is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • Law enforcement. We may be required to disclose your data by law, or in response to a valid request from a public authority such as a court or government agency.
  • Other legal reasons. We may disclose your data where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, investigate possible wrongdoing connected to the website, protect the personal safety of users or the public, or protect against legal liability.

Security

We take the security of your personal data seriously. That said, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. We use commercially reasonable means to protect your data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

This website is not directed at anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, please contact us. If we discover we have collected data from someone under 18 without verified parental consent, we will remove it from our servers.
